Federal Programme

Partnering in Business with Germany

A recognised partner in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy's foreign trade promotion instrument — supporting international executives in building lasting business relationships with German companies.

Since the programme launched in 1998, the Export-Akademie Baden-Württemberg has been an active partner in international management training — helping more than 15,000 decision-makers from 21 countries initiate and grow business with Germany.

Every year, we host various international groups and support participants in developing their leadership competencies and expanding their international business. Programmes are delivered both virtually and in a face-to-face format, using tools we have developed specifically for this purpose.

Together with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, we developed the “Fit for Partnership with Germany” competency model — built on the IMLead® Heptathlon management concept. This model forms the framework for all programme phases.

Partnering in Business with Germany is a foreign trade promotion instrument of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). GIZ GmbH has been commissioned to implement the programme on behalf of the BMWE.

Management Model

The Green IMLead® Heptathlon Framework

All our management and leadership trainings, case studies, and company visits are structured around the seven fields of the IMLead® Heptathlon concept. It provides the backbone for how we design and deliver every programme phase — ensuring participants leave with an integrated, applicable leadership system.

B2B Meetings & Business Development

An essential element of the programme are B2B meetings — individual, tailored sessions with German partners. We support our participants in establishing direct business contacts and conducting targeted negotiations with potential German business partners.

Participants benefit from first-hand practical programme experience, reporting significant improvements in their home companies — from new human resources practices and innovation management systems to fruitful win-win partnerships with German companies.

“This programme was amazing for us. It made us believe we can take risks and expand our services to another industry. We already had conversations with diverse companies in Germany that would be more than happy to cooperate and do business with us.”
